When styling your shelves and glass cabinets, you want to keep it clean looking. This can be attained by staying within the same color, and then add texture and dimension. When styling a tabletop, I start with a foundation. I like a tray, or wide bowl for this. From there, I'm going to add height with a book, or Candlestick. I'm then going to layer it with texture.
In this picture, I would put the tray from either side and then start layering. I might put down the book stack and add a vase or candlestick for height and then add a little greenery or trinket for interest. Shop this look here
Now for styling those shelves. If you have old books, take the covers off and put like colors of the binders together.. Stack them and then layer on a vase. For shelves I like to do 2 like items together, like the two vases on the left corner.
Now for those glass cabinets. I'd say the upper right hand corner of this is modern. The upper right hand is traditional. The lower left is Transitional, and the right corner is farmhouse. You can mix and match, but stay within the same color scheme. You can find these looks Here
To create a good look, you need different heights. You may need to get some shelf risers to achieve this.
